Oppo has announced a new low-end terminal called Oppo A54 that stands out for its large 5000mAh battery together with a Mediatek Helio P35 SoC that we have already seen in other terminals of the brand and with which, in principle, you should get considerable autonomy. As the name suggests, the Oppo A54 is a successor to the OPPO A53 that debuted last year, carrying some small upgrades but still comes with a fairly affordable price tag.
Starting with the design, the new Oppo A54 is made of plastic and provides resistance to IPX4 water splashes. Apart, the phone is equipped with a 6.51-inch IPS LCD screen, supports HD + resolution, a standard 60Hz refresh rate, and uses a punch-hole design to accommodate a 16MP selfie camera.
On the back, this phone impresses with a rectangular Triple-camera system located in the top left corner, including a 13MP primary camera sensor. The device also has a 2MP macro camera and a 2MP bokeh lens.
In terms of performance, the OPPO A54 is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Helio P35 chip instead of the SoC Snapdragon 460 found in last year’s OPPO A53. It will be paired with 4GB RAM and 128GB internal storage which can be further expanded up to 256GB via a microSD card. OPPO A54 is powered by a large 5000mAh battery that supports 18W fast charging.
On the software side, it boots on ColorOS 7.2 which is based on Android 10. Other notable features of this smartphone include a fingerprint sensor integrated into the power button on the side as well as AI Face unlock feature. It weighs 192 grams and is 8.4mm thick. It also has an IPX4 waterproof certification for splash resistance.
Initially sold in Indonesia, the new Oppo A54 can now be booked, with deliveries starting on April 1st and it may be launched in more markets in the coming weeks. The phone launches in blue and black colors and its price is 2,699,000 Indonesian rupees (about $185) for a single 4GB RAM + ROM 128GB model.
