Igeekphone News, June 13th: Today, REDMI officially announced its first flagship small tablet, REDMI K Pad.
Wang Teng, the general manager of the Marketing Department of Xiaomi China and the general manager of the REDMI brand, said that the REDMI K Pad comprehensively surpasses the iPad mini, achieving “the most luxurious small tablet with configuration within 4K”, and promoting Android small tablets to fully enter the flagship era.
It is understood that the REDMI KPad adopts an LCD screen. Unlike mobile phones that only need one DDIC to drive the screen, the KPad requires two ics to drive the screen in order to make the screen clearer and adopt ultra-high resolution.
Wang Teng pointed out that the difficulty of dual driver ics lies in the fact that if any synchronization of data, brightness, color, etc. is not done well, it will seriously affect the visual experience. Its cost and complexity are comparable to the OLED screen of a flagship mobile phone.
Secondly, due to the limited internal space of small tablets, REDMI has made special customizations to reduce the weight and thinness of core components such as motors, speakers, and screens in order to achieve the ultimate thinness and lightness, far exceeding the scale of research and development investment for large tablets.
Wang Teng said that as the first flagship small tablet in REDMI’s history, the K Pad will be the first to introduce a number of brand-new technologies that Android tablets have never had before.
Combined with previous leaks, the REDMI K Pad is equipped with an 8.8-inch custom high-resolution and high refresh rate screen, adopting a hole-free rounded corner design.
The tablet will be equipped with a full-power Dimensity 9400 processor, combined with flagship-level cold pump cooling, to meet the demands of heavy gaming.
