Today, Xiaomi/Redmi rolled out an update for the Redmi K20 Pro with a size of 392MB. This update adds a new Face Unlock feature and brings customizable lock screen clock. The build number of this new update is V10.3.8.0.PFKCNXM and users in China are now gradually receiving it.
The changelog is as follows:
- Lock-screen, status bar, Notification shade
- New: Introducing customizable Lock screen clock (Settings > Lock screen & password > Advanced settings).
- New Lock screen clock doesn’t work with third party themes.
This build brings a number of handy features and fixes. First and foremost, now face unlocks can be accessed by everyone. The functionality has been improved a lot. Besides, now users can also set Lunar calendar on the lock screen after installing this MIUI 10.3.8.0 update. The idle battery drain issue present in the factory firmware has been reportedly taken care of as well.
On the other hand, some Redmi K20 Pro users are facing an issue with an uncalibrated proximity sensor. It could be possible that Xiaomi bundled some fixes with this new day-one patch, but we are not certain about it.
The phone comes with a 6.39″ Full HD+ AMOLED display that has no notches and it features an in-display fingerprint sensor. Under the hood, it is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 chipset, coupled with up to 8GB of RAM and up to 256GB internal storage.
Over at the rear, the K20 Pro is equipped with a triple-camera setup consisting of a 48MP f/1.75 main camera, a 13MP f/2.4 ultra-wide-angle shooter and an 8MP f/2.4 telephoto unit that’s capable of 2X optical zoom. The device also sports a pop-up selfie mechanism that houses a 20MP AI-assisted front camera.
The Redmi K20 Pro comes with 8-layer of graphite sheet for heat dissipation. Powering the device is a 4000mAh battery that supports 27W fast-charging via USB-C and it also retains a 3.5mm headphone jack. The MIUI 10 based Android 9 Pie OS comes preloaded on the device, with support for Game Turbo 2.0.
