Xiaomi’s upcoming lineup of certified devices has been summarized by a blogger, revealing an exciting array of new products set to launch in August. Among the notable offerings are the highly anticipated folding screen device and the K60 Extreme Edition. Additionally, Xiaomi is set to unveil the Redmi Pad 2, an incredibly cost-effective tablet boasting exceptional value within the 1,000 yuan price range. The Redmi Pad 2 is scheduled for an online release in August.
Certification information indicates that the phone will feature fast charging capabilities of either 22.5W or 18W. It is expected to target the entry-level market, with a price point carefully controlled to remain below 1,000 yuan.
The previous generation Redmi Pad gained popularity due to its outstanding cost performance. With an all-metal body, a 2K LCD screen, and support for a 90Hz refresh rate, it proved ideal for online classes and immersive video streaming experiences.
The upcoming Redmi Pad 2 is expected to maintain the 2K LCD solution while potentially retaining the 90Hz refresh rate instead of upgrading to 120Hz. Nevertheless, it promises to deliver an exceptional price-performance ratio below 1,000 yuan.
In terms of performance, the core of the Redmi Pad 2 will see an upgrade from the previous generation’s MediaTek Helio G99 to the Qualcomm Snapdragon 680. However, it’s worth noting that the Snapdragon 680 does not support 2K 120Hz display output.
According to the certification, the Redmi Pad 2 will be available in three memory configurations: 4GB+64GB, 4GB+128GB, and 6GB+128GB.
Although a larger storage variant hasn’t been mentioned, the previous generation Redmi Pad offered expandable storage through an external memory card slot. This slot, capable of accommodating cards with up to 1TB capacities, is expected to be retained in the new model.
