Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 Series Gets FCC Certification

Samsung is gearing up for the highly anticipated release of its next-generation smartwatches, the Galaxy Watch 6 and the Galaxy Watch 6 Classic. Set to hit the market in July 2023, these watches have already received certification from the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), signaling that their launch is imminent.

The FCC certification reveals some key details about the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 series. The smartwatches will be available in two sizes: the SM-R930, a 40mm version, and the SM-R940, a 44mm version. Both sizes have been cleared for sale in the United States. The certification documents also disclose that the Galaxy Watch 6 will feature dual-band Wi-Fi a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 5.3, and NFC capabilities. Furthermore, both sizes of the smartwatches will support wireless charging, and they will come with the ER-OR900 wireless charging model.

Leaked information suggests that the Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 will differ from its predecessors in terms of design. Notably, it is expected to lack a physical rotating bezel, a departure from the popular feature found in previous models. On the other hand, the Galaxy Watch 6 Classic is rumored to bring back the iconic rotating bezel that was absent in the Galaxy Watch 5 Pro. This reintroduction of the rotating bezel is likely to please fans of the classic design.

Under the hood, the Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 series will boast the Exynos W980 chip, an upgrade from its predecessor. While the CPU frequency is only slightly improved, users can expect enhanced performance and smoother operation. Additionally, the watches will come pre-installed with Wear OS 4-based One UI 5 Watch, promising an intuitive and seamless user experience.

As with previous iterations, the Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 series will excel in activity and health-tracking functionalities. These watches will be equipped with various sensors, including an accelerometer, barometer, compass, gyroscope, and heart rate monitor. They will also offer ECG (Electrocardiogram) capabilities, allowing users to monitor their heart health. Furthermore, the watches will feature SpO2 blood oxygen monitoring, stress tracking, sleep tracking, and body composition analysis, similar to the Galaxy Watch 4 and Galaxy Watch 5 series.

In conclusion, Samsung’s upcoming smartwatches, the Galaxy Watch 6 and the Galaxy Watch 6 Classic, have received FCC certification, indicating that their launch is imminent. These watches will be available in 40mm and 44mm sizes, supporting wireless charging and featuring advanced connectivity options. While the Galaxy Watch 6 is expected to forego the physical rotating bezel, the Galaxy Watch 6 Classic is rumored to reintroduce this beloved feature. Powered by the Exynos W980 chip and running on Wear OS 4-based One UI 5 Watch, these watches will offer a seamless and feature-rich user experience. With comprehensive health and activity tracking capabilities, including ECG, SpO2 monitoring, and stress tracking, the Galaxy Watch 6 series aims to be a compelling choice for fitness enthusiasts and tech-savvy individuals alike.
