Igeekphone News, April 24th: South Korean media FNnews published a blog post today (April 24th), revealing that Samsung plans to hold the Galaxy Unpacked event on May 13th and release its thinnest flagship Galaxy S25 Edge phone.
Sources said that the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge mobile phone will be available for sale in the first batch in the Chinese and South Korean markets. Pre-orders will be accepted from May 14th to 20th. The activation period for pre-order users will be from May 21st to 23rd. It will be officially launched on May 23rd and will be available in global markets such as the United States on May 30th.
Compared with the previous cycle of about two weeks from the launch event to the market release of the Galaxy S25 series and Galaxy Z Fold6 and Z Flip6, Samsung has significantly accelerated the pace this time. The media believes that Samsung’s move is intended to take the lead in the “thinness competition” before Apple releases the ultra-thin model “iPhone 17 Air” in September.
It is reported that Samsung may follow the “teaser video” format of the Galaxy Z Fold SE and release the Galaxy S25 Edge phone online.
In terms of price, the Galaxy S25 Edge is positioned in the mid-to-high end. The price of the 256GB version is expected to be 1.5 million Korean won (Igeekphone Note: The current exchange rate is approximately 7,413 yuan), which is between that of the S25 Plus (1.353 million Korean won) and the S25 Ultra (1.698 million Korean won).
This device features a 5.8mm ultra-thin body, is equipped with a 6.66-inch screen, and is available in silver, black and blue. The annual production plan is 3 million units. Considering that the target shipment volume of the Galaxy S25 series is about 37 million units, this model accounts for approximately 8% of the share.
