Igeekphone News, April 30th: Leaker @PandaFlashPro claimed on the X platform earlier this month that the Galaxy Z Flip7 might adopt the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy chip; However, the South Korean media Chosun Ilbo gave a different view in its report today local time, believing that Samsung’s flagship “mini foldable” this year will still be equipped with its own Exynos 2500 AP (Igeekphone Note: Application processor).
South Korean media said that Samsung plans to start mass production of the Galaxy Z Flip7 smartphone based on Exynos 2500 from May, and the first batch of production by June could reach approximately 200,000 units. This will also be the first Samsung foldable screen product equipped with its own Exynos AP.
Industry insiders previously estimated the yield rate of the Exynos 2500 chip at 20% to 40%, which was significantly lower than the 60% required for the general start of mass production. The report, citing anonymous sources, said that the yield rate of Exynos 2500 has currently been “relatively stable”, and the lower sales volume of small-foldable products is also a favorable factor for the application of Exynos 2500.
