It is reported that accessory manufacturer iFunSmart has already launched the first batch of third-party protective cases for Apple’s first foldable iPhone (iPhone Fold), once again confirming many rumors about the design of this device, and bringing this highly anticipated foldable flagship closer to reality.
According to industry practice, several months before the release of a new device, component manufacturers will start prototyping and mass-producing based on the prototype model or leaked CAD files. The protective case for this product is made of semi-transparent matte material. To accommodate the folding structure, it adopts a multi-section snap-lock design instead of the traditional one-piece case.
The rear of the protective cover only has a dual-camera opening, confirming the rumor that this device is unlikely to be equipped with a telephoto lens; the circular opening reserved on the body for the magnetic component, with an internal N52 magnet, has military-grade shock resistance capabilities. Combined with a 1.5-millimeter raised camera border and a 1-millimeter raised screen border, the protection configuration is complete.
In addition, the protective case has a hole for the camera control button, and no action button is provided. This layout is basically consistent with the previously disclosed button arrangement.
It is worth noting that the built-in magnetic attachment module in the protective case does not mean that the iPhone Fold will support MagSafe. Previously, it was reported that this foldable screen model is highly unlikely to have this feature.
According to current reports, the iPhone Fold is expected to be released in the autumn of 2026 at the same time as the iPhone 18 Pro series. It will adopt a “wide fold” design with a 5.5-inch external screen and a 7.8-inch internal screen. The folding thickness is approximately 9.5 millimeters, and the unfolded thickness is about 4.5 millimeters.
Equipped with the A20 Pro chip and 12GB of memory, it features two 48-megapixel rear cameras. Instead of Face ID, it adopts a side-mounted integrated Touch ID. The starting price is approximately $2000, which is about 13,597 yuan in RMB.
