Igeekphone News, April 30th: @Bao_ Xiao Li, the product manager of Xiaomi’s camera department, posted yesterday that the full-focal range Dolby Vision for the Xiaomi 14 Ultra phone has been developed.
He indicated that this feature involves the Dolby Vision effect under three lenses: ultra-wide-angle 0.5x, telephoto 3.2x, and ultra-telephoto 5x. It requires official certification from Dolby. If everything goes smoothly, the certification work is expected to be completed in the middle to late May, and then the version can be pushed out.
In addition, @Bao_ Xiao Li, the product manager of Xiaomi’s camera department, also responded to some netizens’ questions in the comment section: Regarding the issue of Dolby Vision on the Xiaomi 15 Ultra phone turning green, he replied, “We have optimized the issue of turning green.” Regarding whether the function of automatic conversion for sharing by third-party apps could be added, he said, “I remember that when we first started working on it, we had already adjusted with the third parties. If the third parties do not support Dolby Vision, it will be automatically converted to SDR for re-release.”
According to a previous report by IT Home, the Xiaomi 14 Ultra mobile phone was released in February last year. It is equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen3 mobile processing platform, LPDDR5X memory, UFS 4.0 flash memory, and adopts a 4000m㎡ dual-path annular cold pump. This device is also equipped with a 6.73-inch 3200×1440 resolution OLED equal depth four-curved screen (with C8 luminescent material from China Star), with a local peak brightness of 3000 nits, 12-bit color depth, and support for 1-120Hz LTPO high refresh rate. It supports DC-like dimming and 1920Hz high-frequency PWM dimming, and adopts a Xiaomi Dragon Crystal glass cover plate.
In terms of imaging, the Xiaomi 14 Ultra features a 32MP Omnivision OV32B40 sensor at the front and a brand-new Leica Summilux “All-Star” quad-camera setup at the back, including a 50MP SONY LYT-900 main camera (OIS). It adopts a 1024-stop variable aperture of 1-inch f / 1.63-f / 4.0, with ALD ultra-low reflection coating. Both the ultra-wide-angle and telephoto lenses are SONY IMX858.
