On July 21st, Igeekphone reported that recently, Xiaomi’s first 100W mobile phone charger has been approved for network access. The model is MDY-18-EW, supporting 67W/90W/100W. It is expected to be used in the Xiaomi 16 series.
In addition, judging from the Weibo topic tag posted by the blogger “Smart Pikachu”, the Xiaomi 16 series is expected to support 50W wireless charging and be equipped with a 7000mAh or 7500mAh battery.

It is understood that the Xiaomi 16 series will be the first to launch the second-generation Snapdragon 8 Ultra, tentatively scheduled for release in September.
The second-generation Snapdragon 8 Ultra is built on TSMC’s third-generation 3nm process and adopts the second-generation self-developed Oryon CPU architecture. The GPU independent cache has been increased to 16MB, and the theoretical single-core performance of GeekBench 6 is set at over 4000, with a multi-core performance of over 11,000.
For comparison, the single-core score of the Snapdragon 8 Ultra is around 3100, and the multi-core score is around 9800.

As in previous years, the Xiaomi 16 and Xiaomi 16 Pro models were released first, with screens of 1.5K and 2K resolutions respectively.
The new model will also be the first to pre-install the Pengpai OS 3 operating system. It is reported that it will add a dynamic island and dynamic real-time notifications, and the smoothness will be improved.
