iGEEKPHONE reported on April 15th that a mysterious new device of Xiaomi, with the model number “2605EPN8EC”, has obtained radio approval from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. It is expected that this model is Xiaomi 17 Max.
Given that Xiaomi will release the REDMI K90 Max on April 21st, this brand-new Xiaomi 17 Max should be released in May.
This model is quite different from the previous Xiaomi 17 Pro Max. It has abandoned the rather distinctive back-screen design and uses the saved space to pack a larger battery capacity. The previously disclosed battery capacity was rated at 7850mAh / typical value 8000mAh ±, which is also the largest battery capacity for Xiaomi brand mobile phones.
In terms of charging, it is expected that Xiaomi 17 Max will continue to offer 100W wired fast charging + 50W wireless fast charging, and it will be compatible with the 100W PPS protocol.
In addition, the imaging system will also undergo some changes. The main camera uses the Samsung ISOCELL HP series 2-billion-pixel sensor, combined with the Sony IMX8 series 50-megapixel telephoto lens + 50-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens, covering all focal length shooting requirements.
The camera module is expected to be similar to the standard version, with a more minimalist design. In fact, it can also be regarded as the large-screen version of Xiaomi 17.
Equipped with the 5th-generation Snapdragon 8 supreme edition, along with LPDDR5X memory and UFS 4.1 storage, it features top-of-the-line specifications.
In terms of price, it is expected that the Xiaomi 17 Max will be slightly higher than the standard version of Xiaomi 17, possibly on par with the Xiaomi 17 Pro. The starting price is expected to be 4,999 yuan.
