Igeekphone 5th May update: Recently, there have been reports that Xiaomi MIX 5 will be released globally. As a reference, Xiaomi MIX 4 was launched in 2021. One of the core highlights of this phone was the bezel-less full-screen display, which was made possible by the under-display front camera technology. Since then, there have been no new updates for Xiaomi’s non-foldable MIX series.
Previously, Ximitime discovered a device with the code name “hongkong” and model number Q5 in Hyper OS (HyperOS) code. The source of the information revealed that this model might be the Xiaomi MIX 5 and is expected to be released in multiple key markets such as Europe, India, Turkey, Indonesia, China, and Russia.
However, Igeekphone noticed that blogger @DigitalXiaolianTianzhan responded in the comment section of his latest Weibo post to express that the Q5 model discovered in Hyper OS code is not a MIX series phone， but belongs to the “next-generation digital flagship”， which is the Xiaomi 18 series.
Xiaomi 18 series is expected to be launched first in China in the fourth quarter of 2026, equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 series chip. As for the Xiaomi MIX 5, it is still uncertain whether Xiaomi will release this model.
