Igeekphone News, May 9th: Samsung announced today that the display of the Galaxy S25 Edge will adopt Corning ® Gorilla ® second-generation Glass Ceramic products (Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2).
It is reported that Corning has developed “Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2” based on advanced glass technology to expand its durability, while Samsung has optimized it through application processes and strengthening techniques and equipped it on the S25 Edge.
This product is made by integrating crystals into glass, which is the main material. While maintaining high optical transparency, it provides enhanced strength for glass ceramics through the synergistic effect between glass and crystals.
Igeekphone has noticed that Corning’s first-generation Gorilla Glass Ceramic has been on the market for just over a month. This technology enhances impact resistance by integrating ceramic materials and is adopted on the outer screen of the MOTOROLA Razr Ultra foldable phone released on April 25.
Corning once introduced that in Corning Laboratory tests, Gorilla Glass Ceramic (first generation) could withstand ten consecutive drops from a height of 1 meter on a simulated asphalt surface. Some other aluminosilicate glasses on the market usually break upon the first drop.
