In 2019 we will see many smartphones with 48MP cameras. The last to be presented is the Redmi Note 7, but also companies less known as UMIDIGI will present smartphones of this type. Just this Chinese company announced a few months ago the UMIDIGI S3 Pro, which should soon officially arrive on the market.
The back cover of the UMIDIGI S3 Pro will be made of ceramic and will recall that of the Xiaomi Mi Mix series. This smartphone will continue to use the 3.5 mm audio jack and, therefore, you can use headphones with wire without the aid of adapters.
The UMIDIGI S3 Pro will be the flagship smartphone of the company and as already said will focus a lot on the Sony 48MP sensor IMX586. This sensor will guarantee excellent photos even in low light conditions, going to “aggregate” the signal of 4 adjacent pixels, reaching a sensitivity equivalent to that of 1.6-micron pixels. In this case, the resolution would drop from 48MP to 12MP, reducing noise and increasing brightness.

These photos promise well, but it is a sample and, therefore, we will have to wait for the smartphone to shoot to realize the real quality of the photos.
This smartphone will be powered by the SoC MediaTek Helio P70, flanked by 6GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 128GB of internal memory. This SoC will go to make the most of artificial intelligence to improve the performance of the smartphone.
The UMIDIGI S3 Pro will use a 6.3 “LTPS display with FullHD + resolution. The rear camera of 48MP will be flanked by a sensor 12MP which will be used as a telephoto lens. As for the front camera, this will be 20MP. This smartphone will arrive on the market with Android 9.0 Pie. The 5150mAh battery should ensure good battery life.
The UMIDIGI S3 Pro should arrive on the market by the end of this month, but there is no precise date to report. At the moment there is no information even on the sale price. If you do not want to wait and are looking for a smartphone with a 48MP camera and excellent technical features, then you could buy the Huawei Nova 4 or the Honor View 20.
