UMIDIGI X is packed with similar specs as Xiaomi Mi A3 but it is much cheaper than Mi A3 (4GB + 64GB version) which costs $279. As noted, UMIDIGI X boasts the latest generation optical in-screen fingerprint sensor from Goodix, the same company that supplies Mi A3.
UMIDIGI X is using a magnificently bright and vivid 6.35’’ AMOLED panel, which has a more accurate color with true black, higher brightness and better contrast, as well as more power-efficient, compared with common LCD display. Now the in-screen fingerprint sensor is not only limited to flagship phones anymore. It’s great to see that UMIDIGI brings this high-end feature to the budget segment with UMIDIGI X. The X features the latest optical in-display fingerprint sensor by Goodix, the same in-screen fingerprint module provider as the tech giant like Huawei and Xiaomi.
Regarding performance, UMIDIGI X comes in 4GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 128GB of native storage while Mi A3 features 4GB + 64GB/128GB configuration. And UMIDIGI X is powered by Helio P60 while Mi A3 has Snapdragon 665 but they have a similar AnTuTu benchmark score which is about 140k. Both phones have about 4,000 mAh battery with 18W fast-charging support but Mi A3 is shipped with just 10W charger while UMIDIGI X has in-box 18W charger.
The UMIDIGI X sports a 48MP AI triple rear camera setup (48MP main + 8MP ultra-wide + 5MP depth). The 48MP main camera has a half-inch sensor, f/1.79 large aperture, and 1.6μm(4in1) superpixel, and it should give you better image quality in both low and daylight. Next is the 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens which is capable of capturing a wide view as your eyes can see. And the 5MP depth sensor capable of taking accurate bokeh shot.
What’s more, the company applies its latest AI algorithms to UMIDIGI X and we can expect the top flagship features like super night mode and AI scenes detection on the phone.
