Pod kits have become increasingly sophisticated, but bigger screens do not automatically make a vape better. The more interesting question is whether the display and controls actually make everyday use easier.
The Uwell Caliburn G5 Vision takes a different approach from the minimalist pod designs that have dominated the category. Its most obvious feature is a large 3.01-inch TFT screen, but the device also combines a 1600mAh integrated battery, adjustable output up to 35W, adjustable airflow, draw activation, and compatibility with Uwell’s GPP cartridge platform.
That combination makes the G5 Vision less about chasing maximum power and more about bringing a more visual, configurable experience to a compact refillable pod system.
The Big Screen Is the Main Story
The first thing that separates the Caliburn G5 Vision from a conventional pod kit is its display.
The device uses a roughly three-inch full-screen TFT interface designed to make vaping information easier to see. Instead of relying on a tiny indicator light or a small monochrome panel, users can interact with a much larger visual interface.
That is particularly useful for a device with adjustable power and multiple operating modes. The screen gives the hardware a more modern identity while making settings information more visible.
The important point, however, is that the screen should be viewed as a control interface rather than just decoration.
A large display can make sense when a pod has multiple settings to manage. If the interface remains responsive and easy to navigate, checking device status becomes much more straightforward than interpreting a series of LEDs.
35W Is Enough for a Versatile Pod
The Caliburn G5 Vision has a maximum output of 35W, putting it in the versatile pod-system category rather than the high-powered mod segment. The Vapesourcing listing specifies an output range of 5W to 35W.
That power range gives the device room to work with different cartridge resistances and vaping preferences.
The kit includes a 0.4Ω Caliburn GPP Alpha cartridge, which is positioned toward a more open, higher-output style of vaping. The device can also work with the wider Caliburn GPP cartridge family, giving users more flexibility when choosing a draw style.
This makes the G5 Vision more adaptable than a pod system locked to one fixed coil and one fixed power profile.
One Device, Different Draw Styles
Another useful feature is adjustable airflow.
The G5 Vision is designed for both MTL and RDL vaping, allowing users to change how restricted or open the inhale feels.
That matters because airflow has a surprisingly large effect on how a pod feels.
A tighter setting can produce a more cigarette-like draw, while a more open setting can provide greater airflow and a looser inhale. Rather than forcing users into one particular style, the adjustable system gives them room to find a preferred balance.
For a refillable pod, that flexibility can be more valuable than simply adding another high-power mode.
GPP Alpha Cartridge Brings the Focus Back to Flavor
Although the large screen attracts most of the attention, the cartridge remains the component that ultimately determines much of the vaping experience.
For users comparing Uwell Caliburn GPP cartridges, resistance, coil technology and airflow compatibility are important factors when choosing the right pod.
The G5 Vision is supplied with a 0.4Ω Caliburn GPP Alpha cartridge, while the device supports the Caliburn GPP cartridge ecosystem. The cartridges use mesh-coil technology, and the Alpha range is designed around Uwell’s AlphaCore technology.
Mesh coils are widely used in modern pod systems because their larger heating surface can help distribute heat across the e-liquid more evenly.
Uwell also positions its PRO-FOCS technology as part of the flavor experience on the Caliburn platform. Other Caliburn G5 information indicates that the GPP Alpha cartridges are intended to improve flavor consistency and cartridge longevity.
For users, the practical takeaway is simple: the cartridge selection is at least as important as the device’s maximum wattage.
A 1600mAh Battery Gives It Everyday Potential
Battery capacity is another area where the G5 Vision takes a practical approach.
The device uses a 1600mAh built-in battery, which is substantial for a compact refillable pod system.
Actual battery life will vary considerably depending on power level, puff frequency, cartridge resistance, and screen usage. A user operating the device closer to its maximum output will naturally consume more power than someone using a lower setting.
Still, 1600mAh gives the G5 Vision a useful foundation for everyday use without requiring an external battery.
The device also supports USB Type-C charging, with the Vapesourcing listing specifying a full charge in approximately one hour.
Two Charging and Usage Priorities
The battery specification also highlights an important distinction between pod systems and larger vape mods.
A 1600mAh integrated battery makes the G5 Vision straightforward to use because there is no separate cell to purchase, install, or carry.
On the other hand, an integrated battery means the device is dependent on its internal battery over its useful life. Users who prefer replaceable 18650 or 21700 cells will still have good reasons to choose a traditional mod instead.
For people who value simplicity, however, the integrated design makes more sense.
The G5 Vision Is More About Control Than Raw Power
It would be easy to describe the Caliburn G5 Vision as simply a 35W pod with a huge screen, but that misses the bigger picture.
The result is a pod system aimed at users who want more control without moving all the way into a complicated pod vape setup.
The device brings together several features that work toward the same goal:
- A large 3.01-inch TFT display
- 5W–35W output range
- 1600mAh integrated battery
- Adjustable airflow
- Draw activation
- Mesh-coil cartridge
- Caliburn GPP cartridge compatibility
- Type-C charging
- MTL and RDL support
- Multiple vaping modes
Individually, none of these features is particularly unusual. The more interesting part is how they are combined.
The result is a pod system aimed at users who want more control without moving all the way into a complicated box-mod setup.
Is a 3-Inch Screen Actually Useful?
This is probably the most important question surrounding the G5 Vision.
A large screen certainly makes the device visually different, but size alone does not determine usefulness.
For experienced users, the advantage is having more information available without navigating through a tiny display. For newer users, a larger interface could potentially make basic settings easier to understand.
The downside is equally obvious: a larger display introduces another component that consumes battery power and adds complexity.
That means the G5 Vision’s screen is most valuable when users actually interact with the settings. Someone who wants a simple inhale-and-go pod may not gain much from a large visual interface.
Who Is the Caliburn G5 Vision For?
The G5 Vision makes the most sense for a particular type of pod user.
It is a good fit for someone who wants:
A refillable system:
The device uses replaceable GPP cartridges rather than a disposable-only design.
More visible controls:
The large TFT screen provides a more substantial interface than traditional indicator-based pods.
Adjustable airflow:
Users can experiment with tighter MTL or more open RDL airflow.
Moderate power:
35W is enough for a flexible pod setup without turning the device into a high-power mod.
A larger battery:
The 1600mAh integrated battery is designed for regular everyday use.
On the other hand, users who prefer extremely small pods, fixed settings, or disposable-style simplicity may find the G5 Vision unnecessarily feature-rich.
What Comes in the Box?
The Vapesourcing package includes the main Caliburn G5 Vision device, one 0.4Ω Caliburn GPP Alpha pod cartridge, and a user manual.
That relatively simple package reflects the device’s straightforward cartridge-based design.
Before buying additional cartridges, however, users should check compatibility carefully because the Caliburn family includes several generations and cartridge types.

Final Verdict: A More Visual Take on the Caliburn Formula
Uwell Caliburn G5 Vision is interesting because it does not try to win attention with extreme wattage or an enormous battery.
For users who appreciate visual controls, adjustable performance and a more configurable vaping experience, the G5 Vision offers a distinctly different take on the Uwell Caliburn series.
Instead, it modernizes the familiar pod-kit concept with a much larger display and a broader set of controls.
The 1600mAh battery, 35W output, adjustable airflow, GPP cartridge compatibility and draw activation give it the practical foundation expected from a modern refillable pod. The 3.01-inch TFT screen then becomes the feature that changes how the device is operated.
For users who enjoy adjusting their vape and want a more informative interface, that combination could make the G5 Vision stand out in an increasingly crowded pod market.
The biggest question is whether the large screen provides enough everyday value to justify the additional complexity. For users who want a simple pod, probably not. For those who appreciate visual controls, adjustable performance and a more configurable vaping experience, the Caliburn G5 Vision offers a distinctly different take on the Caliburn formula.
