Xiaomi Mi 5s/5s Plus Android 8.0 is Coming: Open Beta in Late September

MIUI officially announced the announcement and update the progress of Xiaomi Mi 5s and Xiaomi Mi 5s Plus to upgrade Android 8.0.

It is reported that Xiaomi Mi 5s and Xiaomi Mi 5s Plus will release the last Android N-based public beta development version on Friday (September 14th), and will suspend internal testing and beta testing from September 17.

Xiaomi Mi 5s opened Android 8.0 in October, and Xiaomi Mi 5s Plus opened Android 8.0 in beta in late September. At the time, internal testing will also be launched, and pay attention to the relevant announcements of the forum.

Android 8.0 is the Android version launched by Google last year, which focuses on battery life, speed, and security. The Android 8.0 system has increased the restrictions on the operation of the App in the background. This limitation extends the battery life of the Android machine in sleep mode to a certain extent so that the App that is not in use goes to sleep and wakes up when it is used.

The goal is to reduce the power consumption of the background application without uninstalling the program or changing the user’s usage habits. At the same time, this limitation on background applications will speed up the operation
