The Xiaomi Mi Mix 2020 is still a mystery. The Chinese company launched last year the Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 5G, a smartphone that bet on a very curious design that, however, did not end up being liked by everyone. The front cameras, as well as other important elements (sensors, call speaker, etc.), were integrated into a sliding section that was hidden when closed.
Recently, China’s popular e-commerce site AlieExpress accidentally leaked renderings of the Xiaomi Mi MIX 2020 with a completely new design. The images were soon deleted, but some technology users promptly saved them.
From the above images, we can see that Mi MIX 2020 will own a design style unlike any current smartphone. Continuing the tradition of non-defect screens of the MIX series, the Mi MIX 2020 will also own an edge-to-edge screen. The selfie camera solution offered by Xiaomi is to integrate a selfie camera cluster with buttons to the right of the screen. This will be a redesigned area where Xiaomi can integrate sensors and physical buttons.
On the back, the camera assembly of the device is also designed, unlike any other product. This camera cluster of the device is placed in a horizontal rectangular module with 4 different lenses, accompanied by a LiDAR sensor, similar to what we will see on the upcoming iPhone 12 Pro.
Overall, this smartphone called Mi MIX 2020 looks quite weird and somewhat unique. It is unclear if these are images of an official product but most likely this is just a concept version of the next MIX generation.
Because with the new design, it will be difficult for users to accept such a strange design, not to mention the price of the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2020 will not be cheap when launched. And this smartphone may be similar to the MIX Alpha, a smartphone launched with the purpose of “flaunting” the technology.
