On February 26, Xiaomi will present its news in MWC 2018 and despite leaving out the Xiaomi Mi7, will announce to the world the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S. Although this equipment comes with top features, you should bet on the value for money, as with all the equipment launched by this company. In the next few lines, we tell you if it is worth it or not to buy this equipment, even before the official launch.
Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S: Design
At the design level, we will be able to find several improvements compared to the previous version. According to the images that came to the Internet we will have a screen that occupies almost the whole front, with very thin frames. In the upper right corner is only a small protuberance where the camera is located for selfies. This device has a premium design, both on the back and front.
Looking at the back the first images of this equipment, as shown below, showed a single camera with the fingerprint sensor.
However, a new image reveals that there is no fingerprint reader on this equipment.
Despite this fact, it is unlikely that this equipment will come with a face recognition sensor since there is very little room to accommodate it in the front. Other features include a dual SIM slot and an infrared sensor that allows you to use your smartphone as a remote control for the TV or TV box.
Screen
The Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S is expected to come with a 5.99-inch screen, such as the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 and Note 5 Pro, and will deliver the same Full HD + resolution at 1080 x 2160 pixels. It is also important to highlight the proportion of 18: 9.
Hardware
Xiaomi carefully chose the technical features of the new Mi Mix 2S. It has chosen to integrate one of the best processors of 2018, the octa-core Snapdragon 845 that can operate at 2.8 GHz and includes a dedicated artificial intelligence module. To this must be added 8GB of memory and up to 256 GB of storage capacity. If this is confirmed, it will really be a “bomb”!
Camera
The Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S should be better than the predecessor in terms of the camera. We will be able to find a dual chamber configuration in a vertical layout in the center of the back. The LED flash will be placed between the two sensors. Some firmware files point to a Sony IMX363 sensor. The camera will have some AI features, such as scene recognition to automatically adjust colors and other parameters. Auto HDR should also be present.
Battery
Speaking of the battery, there should not be many differences. In practice, this device should integrate a battery of 3400 mAh, the same capacity of the Mi Mix 2. However, the autonomy could be better, thanks to the lower power consumption of the new processor.
Price
It is not yet known how much Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S will cost. Still, it is estimated that the price should be around $614. If this is confirmed, this will undoubtedly be an excellent choice.
