With Iphone 8 using Face ID, other smartphone manufacturers will also follow to use face ID. In fact, face ID is not first used on Apple phone, but it can bring ultimate experience. According to insider, Guo Xiaoguang, Xiaomi will use the new 3D face ID in the next flagship, Xiaomi MI Note 3, and it will be released in the fourth quarter of this year.
Xiaomi MI Note 3 and Xiaomi MI7 will be most possibly ones to use FACE ID, and we can’t exclude the possibility to start a new product line. As for chipset, sensor technology, it will use Qualcomm processor.
Today Qualcomm has announced that the upcoming Qualcomm SoC ISP will have integrated depth of field sensing technology, the theory will be similar to Microsoft Xbox Kinect, the goal is to support Face ID like Iphone 8.
Of course, it will improve AR, 3D scene for its back camera. The reason to improve face ID is to enhance safety, and become the transition for fingerprint scanner under the screen.
So face ID will be the tendency and necessary. Xiaomi MI Note 3 will be released with Snapdragon 845 processor in advance.
