Xiaomi has officially confirmed that it will introduce its new Wi-Fi 6 router, the Xiaomi AIoT AX3600, alongside the Mi 10 series on February 13. The 802.11 series of standards released by the IEEE can be divided into 6 generations so far. The latest 802.11ax is called WiFi 6, with a maximum throughput of 9.6Gbps. In terms of speed, WiFi 6 is 2.7 times faster than WiFi 5 (802.11ac, released in 2012) and 16 times faster than WiFi 4 (most commonly used 802.11n, released in 2009).
Xiaomi has commented today that the new Mi Router Wi-Fi 6 of new generation Xiaomi AIoT AX3600 supports dual-band concurrency with a theoretical speed of up to 2976Mbps; supports OFDMA technology, which transmits data for multiple terminal devices at the same time in a transmission, which is more efficient; Support MU-MIMO technology, router Multiple antennas can serve multiple devices at the same time, and the user’s Internet experience is more fluid. Xiaomi said the Xiaomi AIoT AX3600 is the perfect partner for Xiaomi 10 and Mi 10 Pro.
In addition, the WiFi 6 standard with which the new Xiaomi AIoT Router AX3600 will be improved in terms of energy consumption, in interference with other wireless networks thanks to BSS coloration technology and is also capable of sending and receiving data simultaneously to several devices much faster than the previous standards.
In addition, the Xiaomi AX3600 router is equipped with a Qualcomm 4 core A53 1GHz chip and has 6 high-performance external signal amplifiers for better wall penetration. At the same time, the 2.4 GHz band and the 5 GHz band of the router are equipped with two and four high-performance external signal amplifiers, respectively, to further guarantee the thin-walled effect of the Xiaomi AX3600 router.
The new WiFi 6 standard will be compatible with the previous protocols. This means that if you buy the new Xiaomi router or other options that are already available in the market, your current devices can connect to it without a problem.
