There are two currents of thought when it comes to smartwatches: those that have a square screen with rounded edges and those that have a circular shape. Xiaomi has a handful of each type, and the ranks of the rounds are about to win a new member: the Mi Watch Color.
In a veiled ad on its profile on Weibo, the company has announced what will be its next smartwatch, showing its appearance but without going into details about the specifications. At least there will not be a long wait for more details, as it will go on sale in China as early as Friday, January 3.
Xiaomi, or Mijia depending on who you ask, have a new smartwatch in their hands. The official name of it is as simple as Xiaomi Watch Color, curiously this word, color, not referring to the screen, which is obviously already in color in almost all current smartwatches, but to the wristbands.
Neither Xiaomi nor Mijia have shared the details of typical specifications such as screen size if they have MIUI for Watch or autonomy, but the only thing we know apart from their appearance through the previous promotional image and a short promotional video is that its main virtue is to be able to choose between a strap with 1540 different colors.
The Mi Watch Color will go on sale next January 3, just a few days after the launch of the Xiaomi Mi Watch Forbidden Edition. It is rumored that it will have similar specifications to the Amazfit GTR, with the circular screen of 1.39 in diameter and resolution 454×454 pixels and resistance of 5 atmospheres, but for the moment no specification has been confirmed.
