Today, Poco presented the Poco X2, the successor to the Pocophone F1 launched in 2018, at a conference in New Delhi (India). As expected, the smartphone is a simple version of the Redmi K30 intended for the international market. For the record, the Redmi K30 was launched last December on the Chinese market.
The Poco X2 is covered with a 6.67-inch screen marked by a large punch. Moreover, the screen has a refresh rate of up to 120 Hz, like the Samsung Galaxy S20, the Asus Rog Phone II or the Razer Phone 2 for example. A higher refresh rate means that the number of images displayed every second is greater. The higher the frequency, the smoother the sequence: it is therefore ideal for playing games on mobile.
The smartphone is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 730G SoC, a chipset reserved for mid-range terminals, supported by 6GB or 8GB of RAM. Buyers can opt for 64GB, 128GB or 256GB of internal storage. Autonomy is entrusted to a 4500mAh battery compatible with rapid charging of 27W. Finally, the fingerprint reader is positioned on the edge near the power button.
Poco has also put the package on photography. The Poco X2 is indeed equipped with a double front photo sensor placed in a hole and a quadruple photo sensor at the rear. The back camera is made up of a main 64MP module ( the Sony IMX686 ), a second 8MP sensor and two additional 2MP sensors.
The Poco X2 has liquid cooling technology, which Poco says dissipates heat by 300%, and the device comes in three colors, Atlantis Blue, Matrix Purple, and Phoenix Red, and will be available for sale in India from February 11 through Flipkart.com.
Even for the Poco X2, the price/quality ratio appears very interesting for a medium-range: the 6GB-64GB version will cost just over 15,999 rupees ($224.60), while for the 8GB-128GB model the price is around 16,999 rupees ($238.64). For the top version with 8GB-256GB, you have to shell out about 19,999 rupees ($280.75).
