Xiaomi’s subsidiary brand Redmi has today released two new 5G phones in its home market in China, the Redmi 10X 5G series, which includes Redmi 10X and 10X Pro. Both new phones are almost similar, but the biggest differences are found in the cameras, battery charging speeds, and NFC support.
The Redmi 10X 5G and Redmi 10X Pro 5G have a large 6.57-inch AMOLED display panel with Full HD + resolution and 20: 9 aspect ratio. The display also has HDR10 + support and a maximum brightness of 800 nits.
Power is being matched by a new Dimensity 820 system circuit developed by MediaTek with an integrated 5G modem that supports NSA and SA -5G technologies. There is 6 or 8GB of RAM depending on the version and 64, 128 or 256GB of internal storage.
There are four cameras on the back of the Redmi 10X Pro 5G, which are a 48MP main camera, an 8MP ultra-wide-angle camera, an 8MP camera, and a 5MP macro camera. The TV is capable of 3x optical zoom and up to 30x digital zoom. The phone also has a 20MP front camera. The Redmi 10X 5G base model has only three cameras, a 48MP main camera, an 8MP ultra-wide-angle camera, and a 2MP depth-of-field camera. Xiaomi has injected a 16MP selfie camera into the Redmi 10X 5G.
The battery life of both phones is based on 4520mAh hours, which is charged via a USB-C type connector. The Redmi 10X Pro 5G has a 33-watt quick charge, while the base model has only a 22.5-watt quick charge. Other features of the new phones include a screen-based fingerprint reader, Android 10 operating system, and NFC support (pro version only). So far, the phones have an MIUI 11 interface, but an MIUI 12 update will be available during the summer.
Colors, Pricing, and Availability
In China, the Redmi 10X 5G will be available in 4 colors, which are purple, blue, gold, and white. The new Redmi 10X and Redmi 10X Pro will go on sale in the coming days. Its price, depending on the variant is:
Redmi 10X 6 / 64GB : 1599 yuan, about $224
Redmi 10X 6 / 128GB : 1799 yuan, about $252
Redmi 10X 8 / 128GB : 2099 yuan, about $294
Redmi 10X 8 / 256GB : 2399 yuan, about $336
Redmi 10X Pro 8 / 128GB : 2299 yuan, about $322
Redmi 10X Pro 8 / 256GB : 2599 yuan, about $364
It is not yet known whether Xiaomi intends to release Redmi 10X and 10X Pro globally.
