Recently, some technology experts have stated that the Galaxy Z Fold 2, the foldable smartphone of Samsung Galaxy Fold, will not be able to debut at the Unpacked 2020 event on August 5. It also claims that Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2 will be released on September 20.
But today, Samsung has dispelled all doubts and confirmed that the Galaxy Z Fold 2 will be launched with the Galaxy Note 20, on August 5. Samsung UK posted a short video on Twitter, along with a caption. “A new look unfolds. 08.05.2020 ”.
In this video, we can see a butterfly-like image that opens its wings, symbolizing Samsung’s folding smartphone. Besides, this butterfly has Mystic Bronze, the mysterious bronze color that Samsung will add to the color option of Galaxy Z Fold 2.
True to the caption “A new look unfolds,” the Galaxy Z Fold 2 foldable smartphone will have a completely new look. The first is the replacement of the Galaxy Fold’s 4.6-inch external screen, with the 6.23-inch external display with thinner bezels on the Galaxy Z Fold 2. The larger external screen means that users can actually show more actions.
Meanwhile, the main screen inside of Galaxy Z Fold 2 will be equipped with ultra-thin glass UTG, similar to the Galaxy Z Flip for better screen protection. The main screen size is also raised to 7.7 inches, compared to 7.3 inches on the Galaxy Fold, and will have a frequency of 120Hz.
Galaxy Z Fold 2 will be powered by Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 865+ processor. 12GB RAM and 256GB storage capacity, Samsung may also launch a 512GB version. Galaxy Z Fold 2 will support 5G technology, but in some markets, this feature may be disabled. 4365mAh battery capacity, 25W fast charging. There is also Sammy Wireless Power Share, which can be used to charge other accessories or smartphones.
Currently, the price of Galaxy Z Fold 2 has not been disclosed. However, the previous Galaxy Fold cost nearly $2000, so Samsung’s next-generation folding smartphone will certainly not be cheap.
