At the launch event today, Xiaomi introduced a new low-cost TV in China – Xiaomi Mi TV ES 2022, which is positioned by the manufacturer as a flagship for young people.
The main pride of this TV is of course the screen with 4K resolution, which features a multi-zone backlight system (32, 45, and 60 partitions for the 55 inch, 65 inch, and 75-inch variants respectively) as well. The Xiaomi Mi TV ES 2022 sports the MediaTek MT9638 chip under the hood and offers a maximum brightness of 700 nits.
It has a 97% screen-to-body ratio and also arrives with a built-in XiaoAI voice assistant. Similar to the Mi TV 6 Extreme Edition, the ES 2022 also offers 4K resolution along with a 94% color DCI-P3 gamut. Under the hood, it houses 2GB of RAM and 32GB of storage.
TVs didn’t always have to be something to decorate your living room. Today, however, it is different and Xiaomi Mi TV ES 2022 is proof of that.
The beautifully crafted metal construction will only help the positive reputation of Xiaomi televisions. Graceful curves and relatively thin frames around the display will only help you have a great experience of watching your favorite series, movies, or TV channels.
The Xiaomi Mi TV ES 2022 houses a two-channel 12.5W four-unit speaker system that supports stereo playback as well. MIUI for TV is used as a software platform, there is support for Xiao Ai voice assistant, as well as video streaming from devices based on Android, iOS, Windows, and macOS.
In terms of connectivity, there must be three HDMI ports, 1x AV, 1x ATV / DTMB, 1x S / PDIF, 2x USB, and 1x Ethernet. Wireless communication is provided by dual-band WiFi, along with IR and Bluetooth in version 5.0.
Acceptance of pre-orders has already begun, and open sales will start on July 9, 2021, so far only for the Chinese market. The Xiaomi Mi TV ES 2022 with the 55-inch being priced at 3399 yuan (roughly $526), while the 65-inch variant is priced at 4399 yuan (roughly $680), and 75-inch is priced at 5999 yuan (roughly $930).
