Console vs Mobile vs PC Gaming: Which One Is Right for You?

Gaming is undisputedly the most popular means of entertainment for the general masses and today we see the gaming industry rising at an exponential pace. More events related to gaming are being held than one can keep a count of.

While gaming is collectively growing but the three main platforms that people can play their games on are creating a rift in the gaming community.

Yes, I am talking about PC, console, and mobile gaming platforms that have their following and player base. Although all three platforms have a considerable following, but which one should you choose is the main point of contention.

If you are confused, consider yourself not alone. All the platforms have their advantages and disadvantages so picking one as your main platform of choice is not as easy as it may seem.

Don’t worry though when the full picture of all the platforms is presented to you deciding between them can be considerably easier. Therefore, in this article, I will pitch the different aspects of the three platforms to you so that you can make a more informed decision. So, what are we waiting for let’s begin?

    PC Gaming

Let’s start with PC gaming. A platform on which people have been playing online games for decades. I won’t lie the PC platform is not the easiest to get into because it requires not only a good chunk of money to buy or build a gaming PC but researching about the different hardware that needs to go into your PC is a tedious task.

Where PC shines is when it comes to using the platform. Firstly, and most importantly games are a lot cheaper on PC compared to consoles and the occasional sales drive the price even lower. Then there is the fact that PC has much better game diversity compared to other platforms hence there is something for somebody over here.

Another thing that the PC gets right is the performance and graphics of the game. It is the most superior platform if you want your game to look good and play smoothly without any lag or stutter.

Also, if you are a competitive gamer then PC gaming might be your best bet because all of the biggest esports tournaments are held for PC games.

    Console Gaming

To put it simply console gaming is meant for the couch. Console gaming is sort of like PC gaming but with more restrictions on what games you can play. Most of the AAA games that are available on PC are also a part of the console game library.

What makes consoles more approachable and attainable than the PC is the low price tag. Current generation consoles that include the PS5, Xbox series x, and the Nintendo Switch are much more affordable than any comparable PC you can buy.

Consoles also provide a plug-and-plug experiencing meaning that once you order your console all you have to do is plug that into your TV and you are good to go.

In the negative department game prices of consoles are the highest out of all the platforms and while consoles do facilitate chill and relaxing gaming but that takes away the competitiveness out of the platform.

This is the reason there are only a few console games with high-level esports tournaments. Also, if you are into FPS games then keep in mind that playing with those sorts of precise shooting games with a controller is quite challenging.

    Mobile Gaming

Mobile gaming is the latest emerging platform on which people can play games. This platform is gaining rapid popularity because it is the most accessible out of the bunch. I mean common guys, in this day and age it is hard to find a person that does not use a mobile phone and that is all that is required for mobile gaming.

The major advantage this means of consuming games poses over the others is the portability of the mobile phone. A mobile device resides all the time with you and is small enough to be taken quite literally anywhere hence meaning that you can play mobile games anywhere you like and at the time of your choosing.

Moreover, with the increasing demand for mobile games, many popular games like Call of Duty and PUBG are already available on the platform with more heavy hitters expected anytime soon. There is also a whole esports scene growing around mobile gaming.

While all this is quite baffling, but you have to keep in mind that this platform is still in its infancy and besides the popular Free Fire and Call of Duty: Mobile there aren’t many games available. Also, mobile gaming has the worst graphics and gaming performance if you care about these metrics as well.

    So, Which Should You Choose?

Now that you know the distinguishing traits of all the platforms it is time to make a decision. If we evaluate things rationally then PC gaming is the most superior out of the bunch. Although it requires upfront effort and research but after you get your first PC and set it up everything is smooth thereafter.

In the long run with PC gaming, you will have a much greater game library with amazing games at a fraction of the cost. Also, you will enjoy these games with much smoother performance and higher graphics.

Now if you are not keen on building your first PC, then don’t worry because prebuilt PCs exist. These are the PCs that from the manufacturer come preassembled and therefore you just need to plug them in and start your gaming journey.

The best gaming PC under $800 i.e the iBUYPOWER Pro trace 4 will be enough to cover all your needs gaming for years to come and will also rival or outperform consoles in performance and graphics hence it is a great example to start your 1st PC gaming experience with.
