As it is known, the Chinese company Oppo comes up with its flagship Find X series, mid-high-end Reno, and budget-friendly A and K series phones every year. It has now been revealed that the company has received a new patent for the Reno series. This patent presents the first information about the Oppo Reno 7 Pro model.
On December 28, 2020, OPPO applied for a design patent to the National Intellectual Property Office (CNIPA). This patent was officially approved after a long delay. While the documents presented include patent applications for 32 unreasonably obscure works, it is claimed that the Oppo Reno 7 Pro model is in the middle of them.
As we can see in the images below, the front of the possible Oppo Reno 7 Pro shows a large area of the screen with narrow edges. It’s a slightly rounded screen, as we know from the Pro models in the Reno range, similar to the 6 Pro.
The placement of buttons and connections is also visible on the patent. The power switch is located on the right side, two-volume keys are on the left side. At the top, only one microphone is visible. While the bottom part offers space for a SIM card, USB-C connection, and a speaker.
Looking back, the camera system is what attracts the most attention. It is located in the upper left corner, as is the case with most Oppo smartphones. The Oppo Reno 7 Pro’s three cameras are positioned one below the other, immediately below them four small circles are visible: This could be a flash/sensor compared to the one used on the Reno 6 Pro.
An optional fourth camera is positioned to the right of the three cameras, which have a slightly smaller design than the other cameras. By “optional” we mean that Oppo submitted the patent images with and without a fourth camera. There’s also an alternative design for the front, without a perforated selfie camera. This is probably a camera under display.
According to previous leaks, the new Oppo smartphone will have a 50MP main camera and the same Sony IMX766 sensor. The device will be equipped with a 13MP telephoto lens with 2x optical zoom and a 3MP camera for the microscope and possibly its own processor. More detailed information about the device will be revealed as we get closer to the launch.
