Igeekphone News, October 9th: Technology media Notebook Check published a blog post yesterday (October 8th), reporting that MOTOROLA will officially join the industry’s “thinning and lightness” trend led by Apple and Samsung, and officially announced that it will release its new ultra-thin phone Edge 70 on November 5th.
Igeekphone Note: The MOTOROLA Edge 70 phone may be launched in China under the name MOTOROLA moto X70 Air. It will become the thinnest non-foldable phone in MOTOROLA’s history, with a body thickness controlled under 6 millimeters.

To allay users’ concerns about the durability of the slim body, MOTOROLA has launched the slogan “Impossibly thin and incredibly tough”, suggesting that while pursuing extreme thinness and lightness, it has not sacrificed the robustness of the structure.
According to the currently leaked information, the screen of this mobile phone adopts a pure straight design and comes in colors such as light green, dark green and black. The rear camera module uses the raised design of the Moto straight phone family, but with a square decoration around it, making the overall design more in line with the current popular style.
In terms of the body layout, the power button and volume keys are located on the right side of the body, and the newly added Moto AI dedicated key is on the left side. The bottom of the body is equipped with a SIM card slot, a USB Type-C interface and a speaker opening. It is worth noting that the top of the device is printed with the brand logo of Dolby Atmos, indicating that this device will offer an outstanding audio experience.

In terms of imaging, this device will be equipped with a 50-megapixel main camera. This sensor has a pixel size of 2.0 microns and an ultra-wide field of view (FOV) of 120 degrees, and supports optical image stabilization (OIS) function.
In terms of battery, despite its body thickness being less than 6 millimeters, the MOTOROLA Edge 70 phone is equipped with a 4800mAh battery and will also support 68W wired charging. By contrast, the battery capacity of the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge is 3900mAh, and that of the Apple iPhone Air is 3149 mAh.
At the system level, given that MOTOROLA has already pushed Android 16 updates to many existing models, it is widely predicted that the Edge 70 will be equipped with the latest Android 16 operating system from the factory.
