Previously, Xiaomi MIUI 9 Chinese developer version has pushed to its third batch models, but recently, from Android Community, MIUI 9 Global developer version starts to push on large scale, below are the models that can upgrade to MIUI 9 Global Developer version.
Redmi Note 4 (Snapdragon version), Redmi Note 4X, Xiaomi MI6, MI Note, MI Note 2, MI5, MI5S, MI5S Plus, MI MAX, MI MAX advanced, MI MAX 2, MI2/2S, MI4, MI4I, Redmi 2, Redmi 3, Redmi 3S/3X, Redmi Note 4G, Redmi Note 3 (Snapdragon version), Redmi Note 3 special edition, Redmi Note 2, Redmi 4, Redmi 4X.
Those who already upgrade to Global MIUI OS, now access to system settings to update. If you are using Chinese MIUI OS, but you want to experience Global MIUI OS, it is ok.
MIUI 9 Chinese version and Global version difference:
The localization of Chinese version will be better, but global version lost localization function.
Global version has google service frame, but Chinese version doesn’t have.
Global version simplified some functions and accessories, such as Xiaomi app store, Xiaomi finance, Xiaomi wallet, etc. Compared with Chinese version, Global version has less ads.
In general, MIUI 9 Global version has advantages and disadvantages.
USB cable to flash:
Click here to download MIUI ROM Flashing tool and ROM for compatible models . Unzip the ROM firmware to your computer.
Install MIUI ROM Flashing tool, power off the phone, press the power button +volume button to Fastboot mode, connecting the phone to computer, in MIUI ROM Flashing tool, choose MIUI ROM unzip place, refresh device list, click flash button.
Note: parts of models may need BL locker before USB cable flash.
Use TF card to flash:
Click here to download Recovery file, and then save in your phone, go to Settings-Menu-choose to install by manual, and then confirm to flash.

Upgrade directly:
If your phone already runs MIUI 8 global version, go to Settings-MIUI version to check new version to upgrade, and then download and install.
