Yesterday, Motorola announced the arrival of the 2018 Moto G6 and Moto E5 series through a launch event in Brazil. Here is a low down on the specs, features and pricing of these phones.
Moto G6 Series – Moto G6, Moto G6 Play and Moto G6 Plus
The Moto G6 and G6 Play feature 5.7-inch MaxVision HD+ display whereas the G6 Plus has MaxVision FHD+ screen. The G6, G6 Play and G6 Plus are respectively powered by SD450, SD430 and SD630 chipsets. Also, these phones have respective batteries of 3,000mAh, 4,000mAh and 3,200mAh.
The G6 has f/1.8 aperture 12-megapixel + 5-megapixel dual camera setup. The G6 Play has f/2.0 aperture 13-megapixel + 5-megapixel dual rear cameras. The G6 Plus has f/1.7 aperture 12-megapixel + 5-megapixel dual cameras. These phones feature 8-megapixel LED enabled front camera. Except for G6 Play that has rear fingerprint scanner, the other two Moto G6 models have front-facing fingerprint scanner. Other common features include Android 8.0 Oreo, microSD card slot and USB-C port (except for G6 Play).
The G6 and G6 Play come in 3 GB RAM + 32 GB storage and 4 GB RAM + 64 GB storage models. whereas the G6 Plus can be availed in variants like 4 GB RAM + 64 GB and 6 GB RAM +128 GB. The base models of the G6, G6 Play and G6 Plus are respectively priced at 249 euros, 199 euros and 299 euros.
Moto E5 Series – Moto E5, Moto E5 Play and Moto E5 Plus
The Moto E5 Plus features a 6-inch HD+ display whereas the E5 has a 5.7-inch HD+ screen. The E5 Play includes a 5.2-inch HD screen. The E5 Plus, E5 and E5 Play are respectively powered by SD435 and 5,000mAh battery, SD425 and 4,000mAh battery, and SD425 or SD427 and 2,800mAh battery. These phones feature rear-mounted fingerprint reader.
The Motorola Moto E5 Plus, E5 and E5 Play respectively feature 12-megapixel, 13-megapixel and 8-megapixel rear cameras. The E5 Plus has an 8-megapixel front camera while the other two phones have 5-megapixel selfie cameras. All phones in Moto E5 series feature front LED for selfie camera.
The Moto E5 Plus comes in 3 GB RAM and 32 GB of storage. The E5 and E5 Play have 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal storage. The Moto E5 Plus and E5 are respectively priced at 169 euros and 149 euros. The pricing for E5 Play is yet to be disclosed.
