MacRumors reports that Apple’s upcoming Apple Watch Series 7 Watch may feature a smaller “S7” chip to provide more room for components such as a larger battery or sensors.
MacRumors also cited a Digitimes source as saying that Apple’s next Watch will come in a Double-SIP (SIP) package supplied by ASE.
ASE also confirmed on its website that its double-sided structure technology allows for the miniaturization of modules to power the smaller “S7” chips.
Apple Watch Series 7 will launch alongside the new iPhone in September, igeekphone has learned. According to Bloomberg, the new watch is likely to support UWB ultra-broadband radio technology and will have a different design than its predecessor, with a thinner sapphire cover that will allow the display to be closer to the surface for better performance.
