This week, DJI officially launched the DJI OM 5 mobile phone, priced at 999 yuan, $156, including stabilizers and accessories such as magnetic clamps, handheld tripods, and bundle pockets. It is available in Athens gray and Cloud Twilight white.
Simply put, OM 5 is lighter, smaller and smarter. The redesigned body structure is basically the same size as the palm after folding and storage. The volume of the body is reduced by about a third, and the weight is reduced by about a quarter (290g head holder, 34g magnetic phone clip). The 215mm extension rod is built in, which increases the scope of taking selfies.
The optimized clamping structure is compatible with more large-screen mobile phones by extending the stability enhancement technology of the three-axis head and the magnetic quick disassembly design of the previous generation products.
In terms of software, the upgraded Smart Follow 4.0 allows DJI OM 5 to identify following targets while taking into account composition during mobile shooting, greatly improving the quality of the shot and reducing post-operation.
The newly launched “shooting guidance” function will provide users with shooting ideas, shooting skills and editing programs. Specifically, it can identify the current scene intelligently and recommend shooting techniques suitable for the current scene (more than 30 sets of templates). After selecting corresponding templates, OM5 will set various parameters intelligently. In the actual shooting process, the DJI Mimo interface will also display a third-person teaching screen, and users can shoot the same screen according to the prompts.
In terms of accessories, the newly launched 299 yuan light supplement phone clip is also attached to OM 5 in the form of magnetic absorption. The LED light source on both sides is designed to illuminate the area more evenly under low light environment, and the brightness and color temperature are adjustable in three ways, which can adapt to more shooting scenes.
Other basic parameters, battery capacity 1000mAh, charging time 1.5 hours, battery life 6.4 hours, USB-C interface, Bluetooth 5.0 connection.
