Last month, foreign technology media 9to5Mac shared a high-definition CAD rendering of the upcoming iPhone 15 Pro model. Recently, the blog posted an update based on information collected from MFi accessories manufacturers, revealing a more accurate CAD rendering of the device. The new CAD files provide detailed information about the design, camera, port, buttons, border, and dimensions of the new iPhone 15 Pro.
One of the most significant changes in the iPhone 15Pro model is the use of a new titanium alloy middle frame with more rounded corners. This change is expected to improve the hands-on experience for users who have previously complained about the sharp edges. Additionally, the size of the camera has been increased, and the camera section will be raised, protruding more than double compared to the iPhone 14 Pro’s camera.
Interestingly, the CAD files also reveal that the camera bump height of the iPhone 15Pro Max will be reduced, possibly due to the periscope camera. As a result, the iPhone 15 Pro has a larger camera bump than the iPhone 15 Pro Max. The new iPhone 15 Pro will use a USB-C port that supports Thunderbolt Lightning Fast mode, which will be faster than the USB 2.0 speeds supported by the two base models.
Another significant design change is the replacement of the mute paddles with Action Buttons similar to the Apple Watch Ultra. This new design feature allows users to adjust their preferences for various customizations. Moreover, the screen frame of the Apple iPhone 15Pro Max will be only 1.55 mm, which will break the record of 1.81 mm held by the Mi 13.
The dimensions of the iPhone 15Pro will be 70.46mm x 146.47mm and will be 8.24mm thick, slightly smaller in size than the iPhone 14 Pro. Meanwhile, the iPhone 15 Pro Max measures 159.9mm x 76.7mm, is 8.3mm thick, and features a 1.55 mm frame, making it slimmer than the iPhone 14 Pro Max.
9to5Mac has also revealed that the iPhone 15Pro will come in a new dark red color with the code 410D0D. The new color is expected to launch alongside Apple’s usual white, space black, and gold colors, and will replace dark purple.
In conclusion, the upcoming iPhone 15 Pro model is expected to feature several design changes and improvements, including a new titanium alloy middle frame with more rounded corners, a larger camera size, a USB-C port, Action Buttons, and a slimmer screen frame. The new dark red color is also a welcome addition to the device’s color lineup. Apple fans and users eagerly await the release of the iPhone 15Pro later this year.
