The launch of the new Google Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL is scheduled for next Tuesday, October 15th. However, Canadian retailer Best Buy has already listed both devices on its pre-purchase site, confirming the characteristics of the rumors. Without leaving room for surprises, the site lists the specifications in a comparison between both models. Both will have two cameras at the rear and one front, and both start at 6GB of RAM and 64GB of storage.
As you can see in the image above, the rear cameras of the Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL will be 12MP (main) and 16MP (possibly telephoto). These cameras will allow the user to record 4K video. The front camera stands at 8MP, and video recording with a full resolution set at 1080p. The processor is also the same on both devices: they will feature Snapdragon 855, at a time when Snapdragon 855 Plus could be an option.
Where the differences begin is in their size. The base model has a 5.7 inch OLED screen with Full HD + resolution. The XL model goes up to 6.3 inches with the Quad HD + screen. The Pixel 4’s battery is, in disarmed view, a concern. We know this is pure Android, but 2800mAh seems scarce. The XL model goes up to 3700mAh, but we must take into account the higher resolution and screen.
Importantly, the screen of both devices will be 90Hz for better flow, and at least 128GB of internal storage is expected. In terms of possible features, Quick Gestures are the most talked about. Performing actions on the device without touching the screen will be a possibility and we will have to confirm its usability.
Pixel 4’s Best Buy published specification will probably be removed, but customers will be able to deposit a deposit of 50 CAD to reserve their copy with a subscription offer of one of 6 operators in the local store. After a series of leaks related to specifications, recently, famous leaker Evan Blass has suddenly revealed the price of these two phones in the Canadian market.
Specifically, Blass said the 64GB and 128GB versions of the Pixel 4 will be priced at CAD 1049.95 (approximately $795) and CAD 1199.95 (about $908). Meanwhile, Pixel 4 XL version with the larger screen also has two internal memory options itself, with the selling price of 1199.95 CAD (about $908) and 1359.95 CAD (about $1029).
