iOS 12 Allows You To See Which App Is Killing Your Battery

If you are an iPhone user, you must already be hating the battery that can drain quickly, especially if you are in the habit of using multiple apps at once.

The internet is full of people complaining about battery issues on iPhones, but Apple hardly ever bothered about it.

Experts have come up with suggestions that include closing all apps that you aren’t using to using your phone only after it fully charged, but nothing seems to have worked.

Nonetheless, looks like Apple has finally heard the noise and the latest operating system from the tech giant seems to have a solution for the battery problem.

The upcoming update is said to include a battery function that lets you see which app is sucking most of your battery. While the company has not officially announced this features, but screenshots that are doing the rounds on the internet confirm the new update to have this feature.

The feature offers an interactive graph that does not only show the use throughout the day, but the hour-by-hour use as well. This will help you understand which app is causing your phones battery to drain so that you can reduce its usage or use it more responsibly.

This is important because some apps drain battery quicker than others. This may be due to several reasons. In most cases it is because some apps, such as Snapchat, use a lot of services from camera to GPS, and all this puts a lot of pressure on the battery, which has to work extra hard and hence drains quickly.

The company did not announce this feature at the Apple’s WWDC keynote, but it seems to be pretty much a lock as no denial has come from any sources.

When you think of it, this is not a completely new feature, as Android phones already show you battery usage based on apps, but this is a new feature for iPhones where you can so far only see remaining battery percentage on the screen.

Apple has been trying to solve the battery issue for a while now. It recently added “battery health” setting to iPhones earlier this year, especially after it got under the fire for falling performance of older models.

The new iOS will contain the battery health feature, which is not expected to have any updates, but the new functionality is definitely going to be the game changer.

The new iOS was made available for paid Apple Developers on June 4th, and is expected to be available for public beta on June 26th with a final release in September for all new phones.

This new update is not only going to change how you control the battery, but is also going to introduce other new features such as group Facetime and group notifications.

You can already use your phone to read magnetic cards by buying a reader over here that connects with your phone. While connecting accessories drinks more juice, people are more worried about apps for now.

Apple is clearly working hard to improve the overall experience and its lovers are waiting to see what this new update has to offer.
