iPhone 18 series is launched first! The Apple A20/A20 Pro is already on the way This series of chips adopts TSMC’s 2nm process technology, which is Apple’s first 2nm mobile phone chip.
Before this, Apple’s A-series chips had already adopted A differentiated product strategy: the standard version of the iPhone was equipped with the standard version chip, while the Pro version was fitted with the more powerful Pro version chip.
It is worth noting that the standard version and Pro version of the iPhone 18 series will not be launched simultaneously next year, but will be released in phases.
In September next year, Apple will launch iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max and foldable iPhone, and possibly iPhone 18 Air. In the first half of 2027, iPhone 18 and iPhone 18e will be launched.
Among them, the iPhone 18 Pro series and the foldable iPhone will be equipped with the A20 Pro, while the iPhone 18 and iPhone 18e will be equipped with the A20 chip. Therefore, the A20 and A20 Pro may not be unveiled simultaneously.
It is also worth noting that the leak claims that the Apple A20 series chips will be redesigned. It will directly integrate RAM on the same wafer as the CPU, GPU and neural network engine, rather than having RAM adjacent to the chip and connected through a silicon interlayer. This design modification may reduce the size of the chip while also helping to improve its operational efficiency.
