Huawei has announced that the strongest 4G processor Kirin 980 will be released for a long time! Huawei officially confirmed that it will officially release Kirin 980 at the IFA exhibition in Berlin, Germany on August 31.
As the world’s first commercial 7nm chip, the Kirin 980 is an eight-core design consisting of four Cortex-A76 cores and four Cortex-A55s, with a maximum clock speed of 2.8GHz.
Based on the TSMC 7nm FinFET manufacturing process, the Kirin 980 has a performance improvement of at least 20% and a 40% reduction in power consumption compared to the previous generation of the 10 nm process of the Kirin 970. In addition, Kirin 980 still has a built-in dedicated NPU unit to enhance the capabilities of artificial intelligence and machine learning. The specific second should be the second generation NPU of Cambrian.
The Huawei Mate 20, which launched the Kirin 980, will be officially released in October. At the same time, Huawei Mate2 0 will become the world’s first smartphone with a 7nm process processor.
On the system side, Huawei Mate 20 has been pre-installed with the Android P-based EMUI 9.0 system and adds full-screen gesture operation.
At present, the only thing that can’t be confirmed is the specific shape of Huawei Mate 20. However, there are exposure pictures showing that Huawei Mate 20 uses asymmetrically curved screen similar to Samsung S8 and left and right borderless design.
