Earlier this month, OnePlus COO Liu Fengshuo announced that the ColorOS public beta and stable version of the OnePlus 8 series, 8T, the OnePlus 7 series, and 7T will be released in 2022. When the plan came out, it caused dissatisfaction among some users. After all, many flagship models will already use Android 12-based systems next year. If OnePlus only adapts to Android 11-based ColorOS 11, the progress is indeed too late.
However, OnePlus COO Liu Fengshuo posted a post on the social platform, revealing the adaptation plan for the OnePlus 7 and 8 series.
In reply to comments from netizens that the ColorOS 11 system of the OnePlus 7 and 8 series will be next year, Liu Fengshuo confirmed that these series will directly adapt to the ColorOS 12 system.
In addition, OnePlus community manager Lan Shuai also forwarded the reply and reconfirmed the previous update target time.
It is reported that OPPO ColorOS officially announced that ColorOS 12 will be officially released at a press conference in mid-to-late September. Earlier, the OnePlus community released the “Latest Announcement of the Old Model ColorOS Adaptation Plan”, which is as follows:
The announcement stated that the OnePlus 8/8 Pro/8T plans to release the ColorOS public beta in early 2022 and the ColorOS stable version will be released in the first half of 2022. OnePlus 7/7 Pro/7T/7T Pro plans to release the ColorOS public beta in mid-2022, and the stable version of ColorOS will be launched in the second half of 2022.
We know that the ColorOS 11 operating system is deeply customized based on Android 11. Therefore, it is speculated that the ColorOS 12 operating system may be based on Android 12. At present, models such as the OnePlus 9, the OnePlus 9 Pro, and the OnePlus 9R are pre-installed with the ColorOS 11 operating system. Not surprisingly, these models will adopt the ColorOS 12 operating system.
