Today, OnePlus announced the upcoming release of its new Nord line, OnePlus Nord 2 5G.
According to the official announcement, OnePlus will be the first to carry the MediaTek Dimensity 1200 customized chip.
Unlike previous Dimensity 1200 models, OnePlus Nord 2 uses a custom version of the Dimensity 1200 chip, which has been significantly upgraded in terms of AI.
The customized Dimensity 1200 is based on MediaTek’s Dimensity 5G open architecture. According to MediaTek, Dimensity 5G open architecture is the deep cooperation between MediaTek and smartphone manufacturers to bring new and more personalized experience, enabling device manufacturers to create differentiated flagship or high-end 5G smartphones.
Specifically, vendors have the freedom to customize ISP, AI, wireless connectivity, and the workload distribution of various processing units such as CPU, GPU, etc. within the chip.

Through deep customization, OnePlus Nord 2 will bring a whole new experience. As the poster shows, the OnePlus Nord 2 has a strong emphasis on AI, suggesting that OnePlus Nord 2’s AI capabilities will be a big deal for the phone.
