After various leaks and news on the internet, Realme finally announced the Realme V5 5G. This makes the cell phone achieve two extraordinary things at once. First as the first device in the new V series and second as the cheapest 5G phone at the moment.
On the design side, the smartphone offers a 90 Hz IPS LCD screen (2400 x 1080) on the front with a punch at the top left to house a 16MP selfie sensor. The slab has a chin on the bottom and a slightly thicker border than on the sides on the top.
At the rear, nothing very surprising: the photo unit, which consists of a 48MP main sensor + an 8MP ultra-wide-angle + a 2MP macro lens + a 2MP depth sensor is arranged in a black rectangle at the top left.
The back of the silver edition now shows a particularly large and noticeable Realme logo. Inside, the smartphone has a MediaTek Dimensity 720, a little below the performance of the Dimensity 820, but which allows it to offer 5G at a lower cost.
Added to this is an extremely comfortable 5000mAh battery. Best of all, the device is compatible with the SuperDart 30W rapid charging system. When you go through the rest of the datasheet, you come across other interesting selling points.
Despite its low price, the smartphone includes ultra-fast UFS 2.1 storage, for example. It has a 3.5 mm audio jack, but also WiFi 5 and Bluetooth 5.0. In addition, it is a dual-SIM smartphone which will be particularly suitable for those who wish to put their personal and professional line in the same smartphone.
In case you don’t use both slots, one of the SIM card slots can serve as a microSD card reader. What never to feel cramped, even if you reach the limit of 128GB of internal storage. The set runs on Android 10 with a Realme UI overlay and will be offered in Silver (silver), Green (green), and Blue (blue) colors.
The Realme V5 5G is indeed offered 1499 Yuan ($214) in its 6GB RAM variant (128GB of storage) and 1899 Yuan ($272) for the 8GB RAM version (128GB of storage). For now, the brand has not announced a launch outside of China. But we can expect a dedicated launch to be organized in the coming weeks.
