According to SamMobile, Samsung Galaxy Book 3 Ultra will use a new OLED touch panel screen. The screen size of the device is 16 inches, the resolution is 3K, the aspect ratio is 16:10, and the refresh rate is 120Hz. Samsung claims this is the world’s first OLED panel for laptops with an integrated touchscreen.
Samsung Display says integrating the touchscreen panel into the display reduces the overall thickness and complexity of the screen. This approach does not require an additional plastic film for a separate touchscreen layer, so it is also more environmentally friendly.
Samsung Display said that OLED panels are the trend of notebooks in recent years, and the company plans to develop larger OCTA (On-Cell Touch AMOLED) panels for notebooks.
Head of the product planning group of Samsung Display’s small and medium-sized display division, Hojung Lee said: “The difficulty of touch integration technology increases significantly with the increase of the display area, resulting in an increase in the number of touch sensors required. Through the development of new materials and process technologies, we were able to achieve a natural feel and touch response for larger displays.”
Specifications
The Samsung Galaxy Book 3 Ultra is the flagship model of the series, equipped with Intel’s 13th generation Core i9-13900H processor, which can be equipped with up to 32GB of LPDDR5 memory and 1TB NVMe SSD PCIe Gen4 storage.
The notebook is also equipped with an NVIDIA RTX4070 GDDR6 8GB discrete graphics card. In terms of screen, the notebook will be equipped with a large 16-inch 3K AMOLED screen with a resolution of 2880x1800p.
It is reported that the notebook weighs 1.8 kg and has a thickness of 17 mm. The Galaxy Book 3 Ultra will have a 76Wh battery and will include a 136W power adapter. This will be a Windows machine running the latest Windows 11 operating system. In addition to all of this, the laptop will feature an AKG-tuned quad-speaker that supports Dolby Atmos sound.
