A month after its official presentation and just over a month before its release on the market, the Galaxy Fold still has many gray areas. Recently, a stolen video has also come to lift the veil on the folded trace on the screen, carefully camouflaged by Samsung so far. Galaxy Fold is scheduled for April 26. The price of the company’s first folding smartphone is $1980.
Unlike Huawei Mate X, Samsung did not show any protective cover to protect this Fold folding screen phone. It may also be that Samsung believes that the inner folding screen of Galaxy Fold can protect itself well. Previously, a Chinese website had reported a $20 Samsung Fold case from a third party. Now Samsung Fold’s official case is exposed for 135 Swiss francs (about $135).
For a mobile phone case, this price is a bit expensive, but it should be noted that an officially produced fit case is worthwhile compared to the Samsung Fold’s price of up to $1980. According to the store description of the Samsung Fold case, the case is not yet available for purchase. It is in the out of stock order and takes 6-8 weeks. Just after the Samsung Fold went on sale.
Galaxy Fold also appeared in the database of the popular Geekbench benchmark along with performance testing results. Geekbench has determined that an eight-core Qualcomm processor is installed in the Galaxy Fold. At the same time, Samsung itself spoke about using a 7nm platform.
Under this description fits only one chip – Snapdragon 855. Also, the test confirmed the information we already know about 12GB of RAM. In the single-core test, Galaxy Fold scored 3418 points, and in the multi-core – 9703 points. These figures are slightly lower than other Snapdragon 855 smartphones, which may be due to the launch of a benchmark on a pre-sale sample.
