According to Antara News Agency’s report on June 18th, new research from Smoke-Free Sweden shows that oral nicotine bags are the game-changer on Sweden’s path to becoming the world’s first smoke-free country – and are driving women to achieve unprecedented success. The “Power in a Pouch” report released in Strasbourg on June 17th shows that since its launch in 2016, smokeless bags have helped accelerate the decline in smoking rates between men and women, with the smoking cessation rate among women increasing by nearly 200%. The smoking rate in Sweden is currently 5.3%, only higher than the smoke-free benchmark of 5%. The number of male deaths from lung cancer is 61% lower than the average level of the European Union. The total number of cancer deaths is 34% lower.
The co-author of the report, the doctor, said:
The evidence is clear: Nicotine bags are the most effective way to help smokers – especially women – quit smoking.
