Igeekphone reported on June 30 that an industry insider, the mobile chip Expert, revealed that the inventory of upstream component suppliers for the iPhone17 series is a bit conservative, as Apple has no new killer applications.
It is reported that the biggest change of the iPhone 17 series this year is the appearance design. This time, Apple has cancelled Plus and added Air. The four models that were unveiled in September this year are iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Air, iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max respectively.
Among them, the iPhone 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max adopt a large horizontal matrix design. The rear triple camera is located on the left side, and the flash and LIDAR laser radar scanner are on the right side of the matrix camera. Their appearance is very similar to that of the Xiaomi 11 Ultra.
The iPhone 17 Air adopts a horizontal camera module. The DECO design resembles a strip runway and is close to the appearance of Google Pixel 9. The standard version of the iPhone 17 has the same design as the previous generation and adopts a vertical dual camera arrangement.
In addition to the appearance, the iOS 26 equipped on the iPhone 17 series has also been redesigned. Apple has added a brand-new design language called “Liquid Glass”. When users swipe in applications such as the browser and photo album, these operation bars floating on the interface will also change due to the change of background color.
However, the AI that everyone is most concerned about has been delayed. Apple confirmed that the personalized Siri feature has been postponed until 2026 and is expected to be available in iOS 26.4.
At last year’s WWDC, Apple promoted personalized Siri. However, when Apple demonstrated it at that time, it did not have a functional AI version of Siri prototype, and it was not launched for as long as a year.
