Recently, Xiaomi put the TicPods ANC on youpin. As a Bluetooth headset that supports active noise reduction, TicPods ANC is compact and powerful. At present, it is officially on sale at Xiaomi with a price of 599 yuan ($84.62). But, from June 27 to July 2, it will drop by 200 yuan ($28.25) for a limited time, and the price will only be 399 yuan ($56).
TicPods ANC’s main selling point is, of course, active noise cancellation. The company says TicPods ANC users will be able to choose between full noise cancellation or Sound-Passthrough (SPM) mode, which will allow users to listen to what’s going on around them and disable ANC. Switching between these modes is done via a button housed in the headset chassis.
TicPods ANC has a noise reduction depth of 35db, which can cope with noise in a wider audio range. Based on ANC noise reduction technology, TicPods ANC provides three common modes, including ANC active noise reduction, transparent mode, and ANC OFF.
In actual scenarios, the ANC active noise reduction mode is suitable for scenarios such as aircraft cabins and subway cars, and can effectively eliminate aircraft engine sounds and complex subway noise.
In the transparent mode, the headset microphone continuously recognizes the external ambient sound and plays the ambient sound to the headset, allowing the user to hear the external environment and human voice. It is suitable for office and outdoor commuting, ensuring normal communication and outdoor commuting safety in office scenarios.
ANC OFF only retains the physical noise reduction function and is suitable for relatively quiet use scenarios. They add IPX5 being resistant to sweat and water.
TicPods ANC is equipped with a 13mm moving coil large speaker, using Bluetooth 5.0 with high-profile sound quality protocol, and supports independent use of both ears. There is no need to distinguish between primary and secondary earphones when using one ear. Pick up one earphone in the box and start listening. It is worth mentioning that the independent feature of bilateral headphones also can support users to pair two different devices, covering more consumer needs.
The single battery life of TicPods ANC can reach up to 6 hours. The charging box supports repeated battery life 2.5 times. The total battery life is up to 21 hours. Even in the scenario of using active noise reduction technology, it can still achieve 5 hours of battery life, and with the large-capacity charging box, it can increase the comprehensive battery life to 18 hours.
