Today, Vivo U20 has just been officially announced in India, which is the successor to Vivo U10 launched in this country not too long ago. The main difference between the Vivo U20 and its predecessor lies in the camera and performance.
As with many other mid-rangers in this segment, the Vivo U20 is powered by the Snapdragon 675 AIE chipset, with 4GB or 6GB of RAM, and 64GB of UFS 2.1 storage which can be further expanded via micro SD.
In terms of design, we get a polycarbonate back with the camera array and the physical fingerprint scanner. The front has a 6.53-inch FullView FHD+ display with a 2344 x 1080 pixels screen resolution, 268ppi pixel density with a small waterdrop notch on the top for the 16MP front camera which has AI face beauty mode and support for AR stickers. The screen-to-body ratio is a respectable 90.3%, and it is Widevine L1 certified out-of-the-box.
Imaging is covered by a triple camera set-up on the back, featuring a 16MP primary sensor (Sony IMX499), an 8MP ultra-wide sensor and a 2MP macro lens. The primary sensor has an f/1.8 aperture and supports phase detection auto-focus.
It also has a dedicated night mode for low-light photography. The ultra-wide camera features artificial intelligence-based super-wide-angle shots of up to 120-degree field of view (FoV).
The phone boots the Android Pie operating system, covered under the Vivo FunTouch OS user interface. The Vivo U20 houses a big 5000mAh battery, which supports 18W Dual-Engine fast charging over USB Type-C. The charging port is flanked by the loudspeaker grille and the 3.5mm headphone jack.
Vivo U20 will be sold in India via Amazon.in and Vivo online channels on November 28, priced at INR 10,990 (about US$153) for the 4GB RAM version, while the 6GB RAM version costs INR 11,990 (about US$167). It comes in 2 color variants–racing black and blaze blue.
