What is the new trend image? The answer came on May 25 with Xiaomi’s Civi 3.
Together with Chenrui Optics, a subsidiary of Ruisheng Technology, Xiaomi innovatively customized the WLG glass-and-plastic hybrid lens, which fully enabled Xiaomi Civi 3 with the professional image strength of “super transparent”, bringing a new trend image. Lei Jun, founder of Xiaomi, preheated the Civi 3 on his Weibo account, referring specifically to “ultra-transparent glass lenses to make imaging more pure”.
According to the press conference, Xiaomi Civi 3 main photography has Sony’s IMX800 outsole, OIS optical anti-shake. The lens consists of seven lenses and is the mainstay of the current flagship model. The difference is that while traditional flagship phones use all-plastic lenses, the Mi Civi 3 uses 1G6P WLG glass plastic lenses jointly customized by Xiaomi and Chenrui Optics. Specifically, it is a combination of one WLG wafer grade glass lens and six plastic lenses.
In product posters and press conferences, Xiaomi has repeatedly defined the excellent imaging effect presented by Xiaomi Civi 3 with “super transparency” to interpret the connotation of the new trend image. At the press conference, the host emphasized that the super transparent glass lens brings more light intake for the Xiaomi Civi 3, so the imaging color will be more pure and the picture quality will be more transparent.
It is reported that compared with the traditional 7P plastic lens, the 1G6P WLG glass plastic lens customized by Xiaomi and Chenrui Optics has stronger optical performance, with a larger aperture, high analytical power, low thickness and other advantages.
Compared with plastic lenses, glass lenses have better performance in refractive index, dispersion, reliability, thermal stability and other aspects, which can effectively solve the problems and limitations faced by plastic lenses. The use of ultra-transparent WLG glass lenses can obtain better color purity and contrast, and better restore the scene and color seen by human eyes. The large aperture of F1.77 can accommodate more external light into the sensor channel, and more details can penetrate the WLG glass-and-plastic hybrid lens directly to the sensor, making the imaging effect more delicate and real.
At the same time, 1G6P glass plastic hybrid lens, compared with the same specification plastic lens, can achieve the overall height of 5-10%. Under the premise of large aperture of F1.77, the main lens of Xiaomi Civi 3 is superimposed by 7 lenses, but the lens height is only 6.2mm, which is a big help for Xiaomi Civi 3 to achieve light 173.5g and thin 7.56mm.
With the 1G6P WLG glass plastic lens, the image noise is further reduced under the condition of dark light shooting, and the image quality of edge and near focus is obviously improved. Even ordinary life scenes can be endowed with “super transparent” texture and rich layers through the lens.
