Xiaomi Mi 13 Pro has Three Cameras with Sony IMX989 Sensor

Xiaomi founder Lei Jun has introduced that SONY’s IMX989 was jointly developed by Xiaomi and SONY, and Xiaomi’s engineering team participated in the specification definition and part of the design and verification of the IMX989. The development cost of $15 million was split between Xiaomi and SONY.

Lei noted that SONY’s IMX989 is not only a milestone for Xiaomi, but also for mobile imaging, which Lei called the “ceiling.”

Compared to iPhone 13 Pro Max, SONY’s IMX989 has 72% more photosensitive area, 76% more photosensitive capability, 32.5% faster shooting speed and 11% faster startup speed.
