If you have a Xiaomi Mi A2, you can now enjoy all the innovations of Android 9.0 Pie. The 2nd generation of the family of smartphones based on Android One of Xiaomi begins today to receive their expected cake ration starting with the Mi A2. This has been confirmed by several users of the terminal, who over the last few hours have seen how a software update began to be available for their devices, being responsible for bringing Android Pie to the model launched in July of this year.
Xiaomi has not been the fastest brand to bring the latest version of Android to its terminals, and it is surprising to see that the models that are part of the Android One initiative have not even been the first to receive it. Still, the wait has come to an end, and the owners of the Mi A2 can start enjoying today from all the news of the 9th big update of Android, which are not few.
The first users who have received the update, indicate that it has a weight slightly higher than 1GB, and comes with the security patch for the month of November 2018 included, how could it be otherwise. Logically, the owners of the terminal will receive the new version via OTA, and will not have to perform the installation manually.
So far, Xiaomi had only offered some users of its Mi A2 the ability to try Android Pie through a beta program, which unfortunately was not available in all countries.
Among the innovations that Android 9 Pie brings to the Xiaomi Mi A2, stands out the renewed design that follows the lines Google Material Theme, a new navigation system by gestures, various improvements at the level of operation and energy consumption, and much more. In fact, it may be one of the most important updates of the operating system of recent years.
At the moment, the Mi A2 is the only terminal of Xiaomi with Android One that has received its dose of Android Pie. There has not been a date for the arrival of the update to the Mi A2 Lite and Mi A1, although we assume that the new version of Android will not take too long to arrive considering that one of the premises of the Android One program is the arrival of fast and frequent updates.
